As electronic information sharing increases, parents must consider that their child may be exposed to sexually explicit and inappropriate content and the impact these materials may have on youth and adolescents. The National Coalition to Prevent Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation encourages parents to have on-going dialogue with their children about materials they might encounter, explain possible consequences, as well as consistently monitor their children’s electronic activities.
This fact sheet studies children’s exposure to sexually explicit material and sexual exploitation.
Information for this fact sheet is drawn from the National Plan to Prevent the Sexual Exploitation of Children.
