MIAMI —

Two South Florida men are facing potential life prison sentences after they were convicted of filming rapes of women for sale as pornography.

A federal jury in Miami convicted 40-year-old Lavont Flanders Jr. and 45-year-old Emerson Callum of multiple sex-related and conspiracy charges Wednesday. They’re scheduled to be sentenced in February.

Prosecutors say the two lured women to Miami with false promises of work as models. At auditions the women were given drinks laced with so-called date rape drugs. One of the men then had sex with the women while the other filmed it. The film was then sold to pornography websites and stores around the country.

Flanders posed as a female model when contacting the women over the phone about the purported Miami auditions.
